Across two days of panels, workshops, and community-building sessions, participants explored urgent topics shaping the future of Texas schools

SEAT presented a session on Youth-Led Resistance to Christian Nationalism and received the David Norr Youth Activist Award at Americans United's Summit for Religious Freedom in Alexandria, VA.

After a prolonged death by a thousand cuts, the university and its spirit of academic freedom have passed away. Texas Tech is mourned by those who believe a university should be a place where all ideas, and all people, are encouraged to thrive. SEAT and Raiders Against Censorship are hosting a funeral tomorrow in Lubbock.

We began the month with a May 1 National Day of Action, and SEAT is continuing rise up for academic freedom at university Board of Regents meetings this month:

Texas Tech University System – May 7 (Lubbock)
University of Texas System – May 20-21 (Austin)
Texas A&M University System – May 20-22 (Kingsville)
University of Houston System – May 21 (Houston)
University of North Texas System – May 21-22 (Fort Worth)
